On Thursday, April 23, 2026, we held the 13th Nihongo Lounge at the Asahikawa International Center Lounge!

There we were joined by participants from America, Canada, and Taiwan! 

The lounge kicked off with a very chill introduction where everyone discussed what they do in Hokkaido as well as the places that they have been to in Asahikawa. 
One table discussed their favorite rotating sushi restaurants in Asahikawa like Hamazushi and Toriton! It seems like Toriton, a high-end rotating sushi restaurant, is quite popular with many of the volunteers and foreigners in Asahikawa. 

During the latter half of the lounge, we brought out conversation cards about spring and Golden Week for everyone to reference for their discussions! One participant talked about his experience going to a lantern festival during June at Souunkyo (層雲峡) ―a famous gorge and hotsprings area 1 hour 30 minutes away from Asahikawa.　

Everyone had fun talking about spring in the area and their plans for Golden Week!

第13回（だい13かい） にほんごラウンジを しました！

4月23日（木）、旭川市国際交流センター（あさひかわし こくさい こうりゅう センター）で にほんごラウンジを しました
アメリカ・カナダ・台湾（たいわん）から 来（き）た人（ひと）と、旭川（あさひかわ）の みなさんが 集（あつ）まり、日本語（にほんご）で 楽（たの）しく 話（はな）しました！

はじめに 自己紹介（じこしょうかい）をして、北海道（ほっかいどう）での 生活（せいかつ）や、旭川で 行（い）ったことがある 場所（ばしょ）について 話しました
「はま寿司（ずし）」や「トリトン」など、回転寿司（かいてんずし）の 話（はなし）で 盛（も）り上（あ）がりました

そのあと、春（はる）や ゴールデンウィークについて カードを 使（つか）って、もっと 話（はな）しました
層雲峡（そううんきょう）の ランタンフェスの 話（はなし）も ありました

旅行（りょこう）の 話（はなし）でも　盛（も）り上（あ）がりました！
