Cross-Cultural Understanding Classes
Lectures by foreign and local residents promoting multiculturalism and knowledge of different cultures. An opportunity for local citizens to deepen their understanding of issues facing foreign residents. With the growing number of Korean tourists and residents, at present there are planned lectures centering on Korean culture and customs.
In the American/European lecture, we had a foreign speaker talk about problems and inconveniences regarding tourism facilities and sightseeing areas. In the Korean lecture, we had a speaker talk about the differences in food culture between Korea and Japan. Afterward there was a Korean language practice session involving simple conversation useful when dining out.
